Why work with us
- Your own clients. Every client is given their own assessor, who works with them year after year. You get to know the organisations you assess, rather than marking anonymous submissions from a queue.
- A small, specialist team. You'll work directly with Mark, our lead assessor, who has been certifying Cyber Essentials since 2014 and spent over 15 years running a Sheffield MSP before that.
- Work that matters. Cyber Essentials protects organisations against the most common attacks. Charities, schools, law firms and small businesses rely on clear, honest guidance to get there.
- Impartial by design. As a Certification Body we assess and explain; we never sell products or fix things for clients. Your job is to be fair, accurate and helpful.
- Remote-first. Work from anywhere in the UK.
- Keep learning. The scheme keeps evolving, most recently with the Danzell question set in April 2026, and we support your IASME training and licensing.
Who we're looking for
We're not recruiting right now, but we're always happy to hear from:
- IASME-licensed Cyber Essentials assessors, or experienced IT and security people working towards the licence
- People with an MSP or IT support background who know how small organisations really run their IT
- Client support and administration people who are organised, friendly and comfortable on the phone
What the assessor role involves
- Scoping calls that help clients work out what's in their Cyber Essentials scope.
- Marking assessments against the current IASME and NCSC requirements.
- Explaining clearly where an answer doesn't meet the requirements, and what's required instead.
- Supporting clients on our Supported Service until they're ready to submit.
- Keeping up with scheme changes and sharing what you learn through our Resource Hub.
What matters to us
- Clear, plain-English communication, in writing and on the phone
- Accuracy and fairness: the same standard for every client
- Patience with people who are new to cyber security
- Respect for impartiality: we identify and explain; clients and their IT providers implement

Do you work with recruitment agencies?
No, thank you. We only accept applications directly from candidates.
